The Philippine Azkals will have a friendly game with no other than British football superstar David Beckham at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on December 3.

Together with LA Galaxy team mates, Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane, Beckham will be visiting Southeast Asian countries as part of LA Galaxy’s promotional tour. They will also have a football clinic on December 2 at the Rizal Memorial with kids from Bantay Bata.

Ticket selling details will be announced next week according to Azkal’s team coordinator Ace Bright.

A group of educators, developers, parents and students are trying to find ways to “support education of programming and computational thinking for the current and next generations in the UK”.

British parent Emma Mulqueeny wrote an e-petition asking UK’s Department of Education to include coding, computer programming, in Year 5′s curriculum. As of this writing, almost 2,000 people have already signed the petition.

She wrote on her blog, mulqueeny.wordpress.com, “I want my children to have choice, to be able to operate the world they grow up into, not just be driven by it.”

Will parents from other countries follow suit in creating a similar campaign asking for their schools to teach computer science literacy to young children?
