The 4th Global Handwashing Day is being celebrated this year on October 15. GHD was created in 2008 by the Global Public‐Private Partnership for Handwashing.
The advocacy, which is supported by international institutions, civil society organisations, NGOs, private companies and government agencies all over the world, aims to:
- Foster and support a global culture of handwashing with soap.
- Shine a spotlight on the state of handwashing in every country.
- Raise awareness about the benefits of handwashing with soap.
